Although we might love our communities we can often point to improvements that could make it an even better place to live. What would make Beerwah a better place? What needs to change?

1. A specific town centre where people would meet in an inviting surround

2. Be much more pedestrian friendly with wider footpaths, allowing cafe's and restaurants to place their tables on the footpath (not just one meter).

3. Create shady spaces with seatings for pedestrians. This would also enhance the perception for tourists and make them want to come to Beerwah. At present, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT TO COME TO BEERWAH. THERE IS NOTHING NICE ABOUT THE TOWN, NOTHING INVITING AND NOTHING WHICH WOULD WANT TO MAKE YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY!!!

Yes I agree with the comment below, I think a more town centre feel would be nice, that's what we have in Mooloolah and it does make it feel like more of a community than Beerwah. The challenge is to grow the town, but keep a sense of the small town about it, that's one of the things that makes it good.

1. Creation of an outdoor dining precinct to invite people to the town after 5pm. Of course, it should also be utilised during the day.

2. A regular fresh produce market (perhaps start to build Beerwah with a fresh, gourmet food reputation)

3. Beerwah Visitor Information Centre (to focus on the strengths of hinterland towns and their attractions)

1. A meeting place in the town centre, where festivals, markets and events can happen as well as just everyday social life of coffee, shopping, outdoor dining etc..... give the town some life, which is located at the centre of town and connected to the library and community hall.... the community heart!

2. A marketing edge/brand for the town based around the strengths of the town - gateway to the mountains, environmental, green and sustainabile principles

3. Growing the existing passion within the community to coreally activate Beerwah

1. Shutdown or relocate the chook farms located on Fraser Rd and Old Gympie Rd Beerwah.

Beerwah's no longer a small town in the middle of nowhere and the smell is disgusting.

Why would anyone want to live near this?

Even the visitors hate the smell!!

The estate agents sure don't tell the new buyers!

2. A town centre/villiage with some character.

All buildings should be built using a heritage type design like in Maleny or Glass House etc.

3. Easier pedestrian access across the rail line to re-join both sides of town.

1. Re-open a pedestrian crossing at street level across the rail line. This would be no more "dangerous" than the ones at Mooloolah and Woombye and other places. The lifts at the station are totally unreliable.

2. Shadecloth over the parking bays at the market place (Woolworths) like at Currimundi and Kawana.

3. Signposted long parking bays for visitors with caravans, it's always a problem to park when you are towing a van.

1. Change the "Laurel Street" sign on the overpass to "Beerwah Parade" so people can find the Beerwah Hotel and the RSL.

2. A pedestrian footbridge across Coochin Creek on Steve Irwin Way. People risk their lives walking across the road bridge.

3. Large trees along Peachester Road to create a shady avenue which would have a welcoming feel. At the moment Beerwah looks bare and forsaken.

1. I agree with several participants here, in that Beerwah needs a TOWN CENTRE (and I don't mean just the 'woolworths' shopping 'centre') that is readily identifiable by visitors and locals - as was said in a previous post, a "community heart".

2. Clarity of Beerwah's character and image. What makes us different to Glasshouse, Beerburrum or Landsborough? Yet what makes us part of the hinterland collective of townships? Can we draw on Beerwah's history, as well as its present identity and also look to how we want to present ourselves in future?

3. A more attractive look/feel - for example what is going to happen with the old mitre 10 building on Peachester/Simpson Street? If I were a visitor walking round town, I would want places of interest, perhaps shops with locally made crafts etc., and all in a pleasant looking environment: trees, flowers, attractive buildings.
