IdeasFest

To help make the Sunshine Coast a healthier, smarter and more creative region, council hosts an annual HackFest event. But solutions aren't possible if we don't have the ideas to spark the creativity need to host a successful HackFest. That's what IdeasFest is.

Useful ideas don’t necessarily arise from out of the ether or through techniques like brainstorming or divergent thinking. Sometimes the best ideas occur in response to an important problem and thrive under constraints – your cause can be championed by publishing it in our digital space, or sharing it at the event. Participants of HackFest may potentially use these ideas or issues where they could transform into real life solutions.

The brainstorm

All year round council is looking for ideas/problems for HackFest entrants to develop a solution for.

This web page provides a dedicated space for your ideas, no matter how big or how small. Share your problems or issues too - together we may just find a solution! Who knows what opportunities could prevail from community sourcing our solutions.

Add your idea to our share space at the bottom of the page.

The ideas evening

Council also hosts an evening where you can come and share your ideas, problems or challenges to solve. If you (or your organisation) are passionate and wish to present personally - come along and share your idea!

We are hoping to have community member such as Not for Profit organisations or business representatives attend and participate; IdeasFest is open to the entire community with possibilities to resolve –so come along and pitch to our creative solutions community. Our outcome is for these ideas to stimulate our participants with technical & entrepreneurial know-how to address them and not only create solutions but potentially progress the solution to a real-world possibility.

Where: The Hive Business Centre
When: November 14 at 7.00 pm
