Marcoola North Foreshore and Lorraine Avenue precinct is the next placemaking master plan.

Council will be asking the Marcoola community to 'Have Your Say' as part of the master planning process. This will gain valuable feedback for development of the foreshore park and streetscape.

Purpose

Council plans to engage with the community to undertake a holistic approach to planning and design of the area. The final plan will guide future projects including asset renewals in the foreshore parkland and a future placemaking project focusing on improvements in Lorraine Avenue. Importantly the masterplan will provide strong direction based on community values to guide future planning and capital works projects in the study area.

Community engagement

The precinct masterplan will be developed in four phases:

  • Phase 1 – Values and visioning – What do you love and value? What is your future vision?
  • Phase 2 – Making a plan – Developing a draft masterplan from the values and visioning
  • Phase 3 – Have we got it right? - Have your say on the draft masterplan
  • Phase 4 – Finishing and staging – Finalising the masterplan

This page will be updated as new stages start.

Overview

Council seeks to design and deliver a masterplan for the Marcoola North Precinct. The project will be funded by the Streetscape Capital Works Program and Minor Capital Works Program. This includes a streetscape upgrade for Lorraine Avenue guided by placemaking.

Placemaking is a process to engage and collaborate with communities. This ensures meaningful and vibrant places are created that reflect their values.
