    Council is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors to the region.

    Safety education starts with our youngest community members. As part of its Get Ready Queensland program, council invites primary students (Prep to 6) to help tell our local communities how to prepare for disasters.

    A 30 second video that encourages our community to have a disaster “WHAT-IF PLAN” will give the chance to win great prizes for the school and the group or individual entrant.

    The competition opens 1 April, 2020 and closes 30 April, 2020. You can be planning and filming and getting...

    Sunshine Coast Council wants you to have your say on the draft Mount Ninderry Management Plan. Mount Ninderry Environment Reserve is managed by council, protecting important core habitat, comprising 199 hectares of diverse native bushland and including eight regional ecosystems and an area of ‘endangered’ subtropical lowland rainforest. The site is also utilised by the community for recreational access and is an important part of the Southeast Queensland song lines network—located within the lands of the Kabi Kabi First Nations.     We're commencing the journey to develop 'Our Resilient Coast. Our Future.', a long-term strategy to help manage the impacts of coastal hazards. Coastal hazards include erosion of our beaches, and short or long-term seawater inundation of land along the coastline.
