    Council is preparing a draft master plan for a future Sport and Recreation Precinct on the northern side of Caloundra Road opposite the Sunshine Coast Turf Club. The site has frontages to Honey Farm and Sattler Roads.

    Community feedback will close 5pm Friday, 24 July 2020.

    The Sunshine Coast Disc Golf Club’s goal is to establish a permanent home on the Sunshine Coast. Disc golf is a growing family-friendly, fun, all-inclusive sport. A course on the Sunshine Coast would provide a home for local players and the community whilst helping to grow the sport.

    Community feedback will close at 5pm on Friday 17th July 2020.

    Council is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors to the region.

    Safety education starts with our youngest community members. As part of its Get Ready Queensland program, council invites primary students (Prep to 6) to help tell our local communities how to prepare for disasters.

    A 30 second video that encourages our community to have a disaster “WHAT-IF PLAN” will give the chance to win great prizes for the school and the group or individual entrant.

    The competition opened 1 April, 2020 and closes 30 June, 2020. So get planning and filming!

    Council is proud to partner with Telstra to deliver the Sunshine Coast Telstra Innovation Awards exclusively to high schools within the Sunshine Coast Council local government area.

    Council invites students from years 10 to 12 to submit an application to enter the awards. Competition will open Week 1 of Term 1 2020.

    We're commencing the journey to develop 'Our Resilient Coast. Our Future.', a long-term strategy to help manage the impacts of coastal hazards. Coastal hazards include erosion of our beaches, and short or long-term seawater inundation of land along the coastline.

    Your ideas and input will be a valuable part of the strategy development. If you have a keen interest in our coast and its future, we encourage you to get involved. Visit our project website to find out more!
