  • Public Pontoon for Brightwater

    In response to Brightwater community requests, council has investigated the option to install a new public pontoon in the Brightwater estate for the local community to use to launch kayaks and other non-motorised watercraft, and for fishing.

  • Meridan Downs Park - Disc Golf Course Proposal

    Council previously invited comment on the proposed introduction of disc golf infrastructure in Meridan Downs Park. As a result of survey findings and further discussion with stakeholders, the Sunshine Coast Disc Golf Club will commence a two year trial (with review after one year) for use of Meridan Downs District Park as a disc golf course.

  • Recreation Parks Plan

    Council asked the community to review the new Draft Sunshine Coast Recreation Parks Plan and give feedback on the future of our region’s parks.

  • Community Satisfaction Survey

    Council invited Sunshine Coast residents and ratepayers to have their say on service delivery and the liveability of the region over the next five years. The phone interviews and online survey were active from 7 November 2020 to 4 December 2020.

    The community satisfaction survey has informed the development of Council’s Corporate Plan 2021-2025, and phone interviews and online survey results continue to be used alongside other data to identify continual improvement opportunities and inform Council’s asset management plans, business plans and further engagement activities.

  • Mapleton dog off-leash area

    Council invited the Mapleton community to have their say on location and design concepts for a new dog off leash area in Mapleton. There was a survey for your ideas.

  • Naming Proposal - Albert Atkinson Park

    A Naming Proposal was submitted to officially name a park located at 174 Nambour Mapleton Road, Highworth. This parcel of land was not officially named.

    The proposed name commemorates the life of Albert Atkinson and his significant lifelong contribution to the community of Nambour.

  • Naming Proposal - Howard Walker Park

    A Naming Proposal was submitted to officially name a park cnr High Street and Peachester Road, Peachester. This parcel of land was not officially named.

    The proposed name was to commemorate the life of Howard Walker and his significant contribution to the community of Peachester.

  • Shelly - Moffat Beaches Coastal Study

    Council is undertaking a detailed study of the coastal strip from the southern end of Shelly Beach northward to Tooway Lake. This stretch of coast includes Shelly Beach, Moffat Headland and Moffat Beach. The investigation seeks to better understand community perspectives on what is valued about this section of coastline and the challenges and opportunities associated with its management. The findings of this investigation will help inform council management of the area.

    This part of the community engagement closed 1 March 2021.
