Between 30 September and 25 November 2024, Sunshine Coast residents, with lived experience of disability, were invited to share their experiences of favourite accessible and/or inclusive places within the local government area of the Sunshine Coast.

For a chance to win a $200 voucher for Australia Zoo, residents were asked to share a photo of themselves and their favourite place with a short description of the location and what makes it accessible and/or inclusive.

The winner of the 2024 Accessible Photo Competition was announced on 3 December 2024. Congratulations to the winning entry: “Bubble n Kick”.

More than a Competition!

In participating in the Accessible Sunshine Coast Photo Competition, residents helped to create awareness of the need for places and spaces to be more accessible and inclusive.

The All Abilities Action Plan 2024-2028, endorsed by Council in November 2023, is a roadmap towards a more inclusive Sunshine Coast for people with disability.

The photos submitted for this competition will be used to highlight those place and spaces that are making a difference and contribute to greater participation by people with disability in community, sporting and cultural activities.
