Project Overview
In 2020 Sunshine Coast Council removed a small viewing platform located within Mountain Creek Lake due to structural instability caused by marine borers in the structure.

Following community interest, Council investigated the demand to replace the viewing platform at the lake.
Council sought community feedback for two weeks, between 18 March to 1 April 2022, via an online survey.
Where to from here?
The community consultation period closed on 1 April 2022. The feedback obtained during the consultation period allowed Council to better understand if there was sufficient demand to replace the viewing platform and determine a preferred design.
Based on community feedback, the viewing platform was replaced in September 2023.
