Between 18 August until 15 September 2023, Council sought input from people who use Sugar Road or Maud Street, residents and workers who live or work nearby, local business owners and their customers, and the broader Sunshine Coast community. Thank you to all community members who had their say and provided feedback.

People could have their say by:

1. Viewing the draft concept design using the Sugar Road and/or Maud Street Feedback Map and leaving feedback
2. Filling in the Sugar Road and Maud Street community survey; or
3. Speaking to the project team at a community drop-in session.

Overall, more than 80% of people who completed the survey supported upgrading Sugar Road and Maud Street. Community and stakeholder feedback indicated some key areas of interest on the draft concept design which included:

• access for business and community
• changes on the local street network
• support for greening the corridor
• support for safe and attractive walking and riding paths
• parking for adjacent land use
• optimising traffic flow
• broader network transport connections
• future use of residential land.

Council has reviewed ideas and input from the community and investigated improvements to the concept design where feasible.
