Consultation is now open

Have your say on the draft landscape plan by 5pm 14 February 2025

Overview

Project overview

Council is committed to providing high quality open space that supports inclusive, active, and healthy communities. Council is developing a draft landscape plan for Glenfields Neighbourhood Park. The purpose of this landscape plan is to define the future planning for the park while maintaining what residents and visitors value about the park.

In April and May 2024, Council engaged with local residents to understand what you love about Glenfields Neighbourhood Park and what could be improved. Using the feedback collected from the online survey, we developed a draft landscape plan for the park.

Council also consulted on a dog exercise area in the Glenfields estate. The area identified in the draft landcape plan was the community's preferred choice. We also received feedback that the community prefers the dog exercise area to be fenced.

A summary of the stage 1 community engagement findings can be viewed here.

Community engagement

Council is now seeking your feedback on the draft landscape plan.

We invite you to review the draft plan and provide your feedback by completing a short online survey between Monday, 20 January and 5pm Friday, 14 February 2025.

Please click on the survey tab to access the online survey. Your input will help to finalise a landscape plan for the park that best reflects the current and future needs of the local community.

The draft landscape plan

Next steps

The community engagement findings will help us finalise the landscape plan. We will present the final plan to our community in April/May 2025 and it will be made available on Have your Say Sunshiune Coast.

We have not scheduled construction of the proposed dog exercise area or any park improvements for Glenfields Neighbourhood Park. If our community supports these projects, we will develop them in stages subject to detailed design and available funding in future financial years.

Background

Glenfields Neighbourhood Park, located on Glenfields Boulevard, offers many existing facilities, expansive green spaces and significant potential. This park was identified and then upgraded from a local park to a district-level park in recent years. As a district-level park, Glenfields Neighbourhood Park plays a pivotal role in the Glenfields estate, providing space for the community to socialise and enjoy outdoor activities together.
