Council has released a study area to seek early community feedback before developing potential route options. Community insights will help identify opportunities, issues and priorities to inform route planning.

Yes. MCC2AH is Stage 7 of the broader Mooloolaba to Maroochydore (M2M) Active Transport Project, delivered in partnership with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Once complete, the 6km network will connect Mooloolaba to Maroochydore, providing a safe, continuous and accessible path for all ages and abilities.This will also help us address other important factors such as population growth, the liveability of the region and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032.

Sunshine Coast Council is preparing a new planning scheme to replace the current 2014 version. The Proposed Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme has not yet been adopted. As such, this project has not been developed under the proposed planning scheme. However, the project team will continue to work closely with Council’s Strategic Planning team to ensure alignment with the final adopted planning scheme and the broader vision for the region.

Sunshine Coast Council is funding the design stage of the project.

The MCC2AH project is currently funded for the design phase only. Construction timeframes will depend on future funding commitments.

We have commissioned environmental and cultural heritage assessments to identify sensitive areas and ensure the project avoids or mitigates potential impacts.
