Friendly and reliable neighbour

My neighbour Graham is in his 70's and loves Gardening. After I had my hand surgery, he came over and actually shaped the trees out the front of my place into a hedge, which amazed me! Now he continues to come over whenever he sees that the hedge and trees need pruning. Also recently when I was holidaying interstate, he took the trouble to ring Unity Water and follow it up, when the water pipe sprung a leak out the front of my place. We have interesting chats and I enjoy listening to his many…

Best Neighbour

Our Neighbour, Dave,we are submitting as best neighbour in our city. He is always on hand to assist with any household problems, such as climbing a ladder to change our smoke alarm battery when the alarm went off at 2.00am. We are in our late 70,s, so are not able to perform these things ourselves. We also know that he assists other neighbours with medical issues, he is always cheerfull, arranges our Court Xmas party and performs as Santa for the Children! Also arranges a Boules Competition on…

People's Choice

Dave, our delightful and caring neighbour who looks out for us all.

We are very fortunate to live in a court in Dicky Beach. We joke and say it is a gated community without a gate. Most of us are seniors and we have one very special neighbour, Dave, who organises social get togethers, games of cricket, bocce and dresses as Father Christmas each Christmas party. Personally, he has supported me through my husbands open heart surgery and other health issues. He checks on us regularly just to make sure we are travelling well. He does this with everyone and seems…

Margaret the sensational cook!

Approximately two years ago my son and grandchildren came to live with us every second week! During this time my husband and I were both suffering health issues! Our next door neighbour starting baking assorted treats and meals for our family and has continued her support of us constantly. She is always concerned for our welfare and checks in to make sure everything is okay! Margaret is in her seventies and has had previous health problems herself but is soldiering on leading a busy life. We…

Bruce the legend!

Bruce was lovely to us since we first moved in across from him 2 years ago. He's taken our bins in and collected our mail when we've been away many times. We just sadly moved to the Gold Coast during the big storms/floods of feb/march 2022 and things obviously didn't go to plan. Our moving truck was cancelled due to flooding, we had power outage (as did Bruce), our bond clean was postponed and lots of things didn't go to plan and Bruce went above and beyond. The bond cleaner used Bruce's power…

Lorraine is a gem

Our darling neighbour, Lorraine, has been a legend in our street ever since she moved across the road some 12 years ago. She brings our rubbish bins in every week and if my hubby does the job before she gets the chance, Lorraine tells us he is doing her out of a job. If we go away for the weekend, a week or even longer, she looks after our pets, waters the plants, collects the mail and checks around the house to make sure all is good. On our return one of these times, she told us of her…

Amazing neighbours

The couple next door were totally amazing when my husband fell off the roof and broke his spine in three places whilst trimming overhead branches hanging over our roof. They called an ambulance and kept me calm while it came. The following 2 days they moved all the branches and cut them up and mulched them then put them neatly away. They also finished the pruning and looked after my daughter while I went with my husband to the hospital. We feel blessed to have such amazing neighbours.
