To guide the future use and management of Point Cartwright and La Balsa Park as a place for all of the community to enjoy, Council is progressing a project to inform the planning and future management of this coastal area.
As part of this planning, Sunshine Coast Council is seeking Expressions of Interest to be part of the project’s Community Reference Group (CRG).
- Are you interested in helping shape the planning and future management of the Point Cartwright Reserve and La Balsa Park?
- Are you a local resident, business or property owner that uses or is interested in using this important open space?
- Are you keen to ensure the future planning and management of Point Cartwright Reserve and La Balsa Park balance the needs of the diverse users?
The purpose of the CRG is to provide a forum that ensures community views and needs are represented and provided to guide council in the planning and management for this coastal area.
The CRG will bring local knowledge and individual skills and passion to help guide the project, and will share progress with their family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours.
The CRG will consist of an independent chair, appointed by council, councillor representation, and up to 10 community representatives appointed through an Expression of Interest process.
CRG members will be chosen based on a range of interest areas and demographics to ensure we form a group that is representative and inclusive of our diverse Sunshine Coast community.
Forming a Community Reference Group is a tried and tested approach and council anticipates that positive outcomes can be achieved through this approach.
Expressions of interest closed 5pm Tuesday 26 October 2021.
