Overview

More and more people are choosing to live, work and enjoy life on the Sunshine Coast. As our population grows, it’s important that our transport systems help all people to move around easily and safely.

We want the Sunshine Coast to be a place where getting from A to B is simple - whether you’re walking, riding a bike, using a wheelchair, or catching public transport.

That's why Council is working to make our active transport network more inclusive and is committed to making walking, riding and wheeling a real option for people of all ages, genders and abilities to get around.

Achieving this may include:

  • improving the walking and riding network of paths
  • building new infrastructure where connections are missing, or support more comfortable travel
  • prioritising user safety
  • encouraging behaviour change.
