Community of communities

Local plans reflect our Sunshine Coast as being ‘a community of communities’, with distinct and separate towns, villages, suburbs and urban areas.

The proposed planning scheme includes 18 new local plans that cover the entire Sunshine Coast, allowing for towns and villages to be considered in their broader setting.

Local plans help guide development in a way that supports the unique character and vibrancy of each community, alongside more general planning scheme rules.
